This is reasonably priced (especially with free super saver shipping) and it just works.I have had no problem with loss of signal. As mentioned before, you will find it difficult if not impossible to find this from any other maker. They are just not out there. I really needed this cable as I keep my tower on the floor and the antenna would have been blocked by metal cabinets and a wooden desk, so the signal would have been compromised. With this, I could sit the antenna with a virtual line of sight to the router in another room.Hawking is a well know and respected manufacturer of networking components, so you will not be buying some off brand.
If you are buying this to connect an outside omni directional antennae that has a N-type connector, it is better to by the large cable for the length, and the short version of this one to go from the router to the N-type adapter. So, I don't really have a use for this one just yet.
as far as I know, this is the only such antenna extension cable for indoors. Works great if your wireless card/antenna is in back of the PC, down on the floor or in one of those lousy enclosed desk compartments -- you can use this to move the antenna up to top of desk where it has a chance of getting signal.
Well I bought this for my brothers room. The Wireless Antenna had horrible range problems so instead of getting a whole new nic, I thought just extend the range of the antenna. I was thinking that it wasn't going to work but the range went from 1-2 bars to 4-5 instantly. Just make sure that this is compatible with your nic and the antenna.
Good product in conjunction with antenna purchased. Gives ease in finding the right location for best receiption with most antennas being sold (Reasonable cost antennas). Allows antenna to obtain most beneficial location for best reception.
